How To Rock The Burgundy Color


This happens to be one of my best colors. The rich, dark burgundy, a fashion staple that reemerges as a widely worn hue every few years, consistently remains a truly classic color. The deep tone works well with a range of other hues, and instantly adds a degree of sophistication to your outfit. Burgundy is a shade of pinkish brown associated with the Burgundy wine of the same name, which in turn is named after the Burgundy region of France which in turn is named after the ancient Burgundians, a Germanic tribe. 

The color burgundy is similar to other shades of dark red such as maroon, cordovan, and oxblood, but differs from each of these in subtle ways. For example, cordovan with its origin in equine leather used for shoes has a slightly fairer, lighter brown color whilst oxblood, typically used in description of clothing, in particular leather, has both a much richer red and a little more blue.

 The first recorded use of "burgundy" as a color name in English was in 1881.
The burgundy color was the most popular lipstick color among women in the 1990s and early 2000s It is also a popular lipstick shade with the people of the goth subculture. In recent years it has made a comeback as popular lip and clothes color in the high fashion industry. 

The color burgundy is very reminiscent of the color of red wine which is a deep, dark, warm and reddish and violet-y color. It’s a nice color for the cold seasons like fall and winter and it makes a great addition to the dark winter hues that you can use in your wardrobe. One of the best things about wearing burgundy is that it suits most skin colors so anyone and everyone can easily pull it off. Here are some of our favorite ways on how to wear the burgundy color:

 If you have certain colors that you think really looks good on you and you want to keep wearing these colors, that’s okay. You can still incorporate the color burgundy in your looks by wearing burgundy accessories. A nice burgundy purse will surely look good with any neutral outfit any time of the year.

 Jeans are classic and colored and printed leggings and tights are cute, too but if you want something chic that you can wear with your outfit, burgundy pants is definitely the way to go. Burgundy pants is a great way to break away from black and other dark colors without going too bright.

If you’re not too keen on wearing the color burgundy on clothes for whatever reason but would still love to incorporate the stunning hue in your looks, going for a burgundy lip would be absolutely lovely. The rich, warm color of burgundy would make for a really sophisticated and sexy lip color, especially for a night out with your friends or even for a dinner date.
