With the growing popularity of social media, these days more than ever we are called upon to show off ‘who we are’. And while things like Facebook and Instagram encourage the best of us to exaggerate our good bits while glossing over the bad(ranging from false lashes, bottom pad etc), for some of us, our inability to be authentic is more than an online issue. It is a struggle in every part of our life.

Why are we viewed differently when we wear different outfit at different times? I was coming back from home and i saw some group of men harassing a lady and the first thing that came to my mind was "what is she wearing?" Pardon me, am not been judgemental here but mehn she was dressed ready to be harassed. another scenario of a guy with his pants down wont want to make me take him serious even if i have a million Naira job for him, i will be judgemental. So how do you want to be addressed? Style is important and shapes your self-perception, the perception of others and your sense of belonging.

So I told a friend that I wanted a tattoo and he was like never ever never and am like why, his reason was that I wont look responsible.  But we should always know that there is a good and bad side to everything, tattoos included. Since tattooing has been associated with everything from high rankings in certain social statuses to a symbol of criminality, tattoos definitely have some serious pros and cons in modern times.
